Quarterly News Letter 1 - 2022
Visionful welcome to our first Quarterly Newsletter. Indeed the previous year had a lot of exciting moments and of course it had been very fruitful for all of us. Thanks to you our friends and supporters.
Now we are pleased to share with you updates in our first quarter.
Be with us as we take you again to this year’s fun-filled, exciting and prolific learnful happenings together with our Visionistas.
Thank you!
Welcome Rejay!
(Rejay with the Missionaries of Charity)
Rejay is our newest member this year. He is a 13 year old boy, totally blind. He is happy to be with us here at the Home. The Missionaries of Charity sends him to study, and we are blessed too to have him. Together we will learn and develop.
Rejoice! Our Future Vision Home family is increasing!
Outdoor Fun and Learning Activity (OFLA)
During the last week of last Year, the visionistas planned to have Outdoor Activities. Its not just activities to enjoy but at the same time to experience and learn something from it.
Venice Grand Canal Mall
Last February 11, 2022, we went on our first trip to the Venice Grand Canal Mall at Mckinley Hill, Taguig City.
We went there to apply for the National ID and to have the group vaccinated at the Covid19 vaccination site, including our Founder, who got her booster shot.
This was also our first bonding outside. We had our pictures taken, and of course, enjoyed the beautiful view through our imagination after our companion described it to us.
Jeck, who has a bad experience using an escalator, had finally overcame her fear. With the help of Ms. Judith Abando – a friend and colleague of Ma’am Loren, and with the encouragement of the group, she managed to go down and up the escalator peacefully and without crying. Great! Wasn’t it? Had she not have been given the opportunity and support, she might remain in her fear of using escalator and be hassle d with looking for stairs while her companions wait.
Sariaya Quezon –
The Home Town of the Founder
Is sea water really salty?
It was a dream come true for some of the Visionistas who have not yet experienced a visit to the beach.
Last February 27 and 28, 2022, we had our second exciting outdoor fun and learning activity at Sariaya, Quezon. Through the contributions of Visionistas, parents, friends, Baraks, and the founder, our dream of coming to the beach has finally come true.
We were divided into two groups because we had to use two vehicles. Van 1 and Van 2. Along the way, each group are given a task. Those in Van 1 will have to make a short poem about how Future Vision has impact change in their lives. While those in Van 2 was tasked to compose a song with the same theme. The challenge there was, both groups did not have anything to write down their ideas with because all mobile phones were left at the Home. We had no choice but to memorize the lines. Despite that, through the cooperation of every member , we successfully finished the task.
Before sundown, we reached the place. We did not let the waves wait for us. We immediately plunged in the water and enjoyed swimming while practicing our composition.

In the evening, a simple program was held. It was like the usual Prayer Time we have at the home. We gathered around thanking God for all blessings received from Him , especially for the day and the output of our task which were to present. We had a sleepless night, we spent our time laughing while enjoying the cold sea breeze and the sound of the splashing of soft waves , which was like music to our ears.
We hope that this will not be our last and look forward to more Outdoor Fun and Learning Activities wherein we experience and learn at the same time.
Look at who and what we have and finding out the best that we can do together.
There is only a few of us celebrating today, because most of our Visionistas went home for some important family matters. Despite that, we reveled the Future Vision’s 8th year Anniversary. After the simple program (of course prepared by all of us), we proceeded to Mang Inasal to have dinner.
We gave thanks to our founder whose dedication and determination made it possible for us to reach this moment.
Oh, and by the way! We received our gift for the 8th year Anniversary of Future Vision Sighted-Blind Inc. We, the Visionistas, together with some of our parents, contributed so we can purchase the 1st portable speaker of Future Vision Home. The one we are using is old and almost resigning after 4 years of service 😊 . It is Ma’am Loren’s speaker she bought from her prize as a Jollibee Awardee in 2017.
Gratitude
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for all the support the following organizations and individuals have given to our project. Without all of you given to us by God, we would barely move a step forward.
- Kanthari Foundation Switzerland – Kanthari Switzerland Foundation is supporting about 60% of our expenses for 6 months now. It is a great help, through them we have some amount for allowance of those people who help us carry out the project.
- Cristy Villanueva – This lady is not known to us but she supports us every quarter with some amount too.
- Sofia Villanueva – She contributes through Givinghero Link – thank you Madam!
- Marife R. Castillo (Principal-Eusebio C. Santos Elementary School) – A very supportive School Head especially to our Visionistas enrolled in school.
- The Philippine Blind Union – the Philippine Blind Union (PBU) is a National Organization. In several occasion PBU is a partner of Future Vision and just recently three of our Visionistas received their mobile phones from them through their PBU Phone Project in partnership with Free the Children Japan.
- Their main goal is to provide blind and visually impaired elementary, junior and senior high school students a phone that they can use for their online class. Three of our Visionistas namely Jesel, Jean and Eshell received their new mobile phones to be used in their studies. Truly, it was an answered prayer for them, having to acquire a device that Future Vision cannot provide.
- We are very thankful that Philippine Blind Union (PBU) has chosen also students of our Home! The student’s would like to express their immense gratitude for including them in PBU’s project.
Our Plans, Dreams and Needs!
We envision, hope and pray that we can have a home which we need not rent, with a safe space, wherein our Visionistas/students/beneficiaries, along with our staff, to live in, to comfortably do our indoor activities, have a front and back yard where we can do outdoor activities, and yes, ample amenities for our visitors and benefactors – such as a parking space, have a hall where we can all congregate and with clean rest rooms too.
At Future Vision Home we never want to stop where we are. We want to keep moving and branch out, to continue reaching more blind children/youth in other areas. We would like to start with our Founder’s province where she spent most of her childhood, at Quezon Province.
For us to be able to this, we need a lot of resources and partners. Believe us when we say that we always struggle with resources. If not for the continued support of Kanthari Foundation Switzerland, the support from friends and Visionistas’ relatives/guardians, and the compensation the Founder receives as a school teacher, our operation would have ceased. We are understaffed, could barely afford their monthly salaries, could hardly even hire contractors to do jobs at the home, and much appreciation to those who volunteer to help our cause.
For Php 3,000.00 a day, our organization can provide decent accommodations for 20 individuals – this includes their living expenses, meals, utilities and other costs, as well us provide allowance to our volunteers.
We encourage everyone to be part of our cause in any way possible. Please see the details below.
