Dear friends and partners,

Visionful New Year greetings from the HOME of the FUTURE!

Here we are once again with our 1st newsletter for the year. You will find photos here showing all the events we have in this quarter.

In this episode, we would also like to feature our partners who have made things possible for us in 2025.

So please read and be moved.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS

A vibrant start to the year, filled with learning, celebration, and new beginnings! Celebrating Braille Literacy!

January 2025

Our Braille Day Message:

“Together, Let’s Read and Write.”

January 11 & 18, 2025: Continuing the Braille Celebration!

  • Attendance: We welcomed parents Jocelyn, Malou, and Nestor (with Danica joining in!), alongside visionistas Jesel, Jesyrelle, Neslie, Nesselynn, Jake, Kizhel, and Ian. Our dedicated facilitators Marife, Jessica, and Eshell, and Project Managers Tita and Loren, guided the activities.
  • Opening: Jake O. Bueno led a heartfelt opening prayer.
  • Interactive Activities: Parents partnered with visionistas to learn and practice braille writing.
    • Malou, already familiar with braille from previous training, showed great mastery.
    • Nestor was a quick learner, progressing beyond the initial letters.
    • Jocelyn picked up the skill quickly but humorously noted she might forget by the time she returned home.
  • Children’s Activity: Our visionistas engaged in peer review of English Braille contractions.
  • Memory Making: The day concluded with group photos capturing the joyful learning environment, including special shots of parents with their braille work and children in action.

January 11 & 18, 2025: Continuing the Braille Celebration!

We extended the Braille Day festivities, emphasizing reading and writing together. The January 18th celebration was extra special as we welcomed classmates and friends, including Joseph, Nathalie, Daphnie, and Ela, joining visionistas Neslie, Nesselynn, Kizhel, Jessica, Marife, Ryan, and Ian. Tita and I provided tasty snacks of biscuits and canton.

Bagong Gamit This Year (New Equipment This Year)

We are thrilled to announce some valuable additions to our resources this year:

  • New Refrigerator: Thanks to the generosity following the Visionistas Caroling event at the office of Sir Kudo’s with Mr. Tanasaka in December 2024, we purchased a new 8 cubic feet LG 2-door refrigerator on January 5th! We are grateful for this wonderful addition that will greatly benefit our daily needs.
  • We also have our new Gas Stove, which replaced our 11-year-old gas stove. With this new gas stove, safety is ensured. Thanks to the Missionaries of Charity for their contribution.

Nagbabalik (Returning)

We warmly welcome back a familiar face!

Ela, a sixteen-year-old who returned to us to seek enhancement to her braille and other skills. She is hoping to enroll in Senior High School this coming school year. She was with us before the pandemic struck.

Bagong Member (New Member)

A big welcome to our newest member:

  • Marc Philip L. Denesta is from Paranaque. Ate Baby of Resources for the Blind RBI referred Future Vision to him and his mother. His mother hopes that he can return to school after becoming blind because of a tumor. Philip, we are delighted to have you join the Future Vision family!

CONTEST

Jeck, our grade 10 student, courageously joined the Braille Reading Contest in the Regional Festival of Talents SNED Abilympics 2025. Though she did not get any medal, she can secure the support of the Principal and the SNED Supervisor of TAPAT. Moreover, her involvement in the contest fostered not only courage but commendable humility.

Sports Highlights

We are thrilled to announce that our athletes brought home a total of 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals in a recently concluded Palarong Panrehiyon. This is a testament to their dedication and hard work. Specifically:

  • Eshell Rose L. Duyan showcased extraordinary talent, securing Gold in the Shot Put and Silver medals in both Running Long Jump and the 100-meter Run. Her achievements are truly inspiring.
  • Rejay Vincent F. Maranan demonstrated exceptional strength, earning a well-deserved bronze medal in Running Long Jump.
  • Our Goalball Team displayed remarkable teamwork and determination, earning a bronze medal. These victories are not just medals; they represent the triumph of the human spirit, the breaking of barriers, and the power of community support.

11th Anniversary

March 27, 2025

A simple yet meaningful Service Anniversary Celebration was held with Marife as the MC. The program included an opening song “Bagong Buhay,” an opening prayer by Sis Rose, a welcome by Eshell, a message from the Founder, praise and worship led by Jessica with the songs “My Life” and “Jesus My Lord,” a Word of God shared by Ptr. Zandro, and a prayer for food by Pastora Armi.

We did enjoy the fellowship, thanking God for another blissful year he has gifted to Future Vision.

Gratitude

Thanks to our Korean group Missionaries who visited on two different occasions. Rev. Hwajin No led them to us. Of course, we sang worship songs with them.
