Dear friends and partners,

Visionful New Year greetings from the HOME of the FUTURE!

Here we are once again with our 4th and final newsletter. You will find photos here showing all the events we have in this quarter.

In this episode, we would also like to feature our partners who have made things possible for us in 2023.

So please read and be moved.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS

Visitors from Save the Children Global IT

December 22, 2023

Our quarter is greeted by visitors from Save the Children Global IT. Here they learned about Future Vision and what we do.

EVERISE Cares came at the end of October and brought us their early Christmas gifts.

And on December 22, 2023, before our Visionistas go home for vacation we are invited to sing Christmas Carols in their Program  but, do you know what? This is not their first time, but it is their first time to feel nervous because of the online and onsite view.

G.U. Engineering of Mr. Oliver Uy one of the Board Members of Care Channel Inc. introduced by Dr. Malyn enjoyed the simple Christmas carols Visionistas rendered their Christmas Party on December 14, 2023, held at Cabalen Restaurant at Fisher Mall. Likewise, Visionistas enjoyed their first time singing in front of almost two hundred employees of the company.

Save the Children

October 21, 2023

Save the Children STC has activities for children and of course, our Visionistas is part of the success of the projects of STC. At the same time, our Visionistas learned from all the activities they have with STC. Here are some of their comments.

On the 21st of October, we went to Paranaque Elementary School for an activity organized by Save the Children. My companions who participated included Kizhel, Jessica, Jessa, and Jesel. We had the main task of sticking circles and triangles onto a manila paper to represent our agreement or disagreement as young people with problems faced by individualswith a disability that the local government unit (LGU) will address. I can say that we were stuck in more circles to show our agreement with their actions . They also provided us with delicious food, games that everyone enjoyed, and distributed certificates to honor our participation in the project. We were truly delighted to take part in such activities. Aside from participating in the task, we also learned much from them.

On a separate occasion, Save the Children took our Visionistas to the Manila Ocean Park. This is with American Express who sponsored the activity. Our Visionistas enjoyed and actively participated in the discussions after which they toured around.

Rejay got overly excited.

On October 25, Future Vision receives a plaque of appreciation from Save the Children at B Hotel in Quezon City

DOST Bazaar 2023

November 14-19, 2023

For the second time, Future Vision is invited by DOST to join the Bazaar through the office of Persons with Disabilities in our City. Here we exhibited our Bead Works products made by our Visionistas Fe and Jean guided by Mabel headed by Ms. Josephine. This took place from November 14-19 at DOST STII.

Courtesy Meeting with Barangay Captain of Bambang Hon. Ryan Esteban

We are thankful to have had a meeting with the Captain and presented to him the projects and activities of Future Vision. He is incredibly supportive, and it is evident when he says that he will be there to support all our projects and activities.

Sensitivity Awareness with White Cane

December 2, 2023

The much-awaited “White Cane Day Celebration and the Sensitivity Awareness Day which were supposed to be scheduled for July and August, finally took place on December 2, 2023. This is the activity of PWDA in partnership with the Barangay for the beneficiaries of Future Vision.

We also took advantage of the film showing of Project ADAM. The most exciting activity on this day is the shopping of the participants using the fund of Three Hundred Pesos.

This is what Jesel has to say, “Ang experience ko sa panood ng Movie sa SM Megamall at pag-sha-shopping ay masaya ako dahil na-appreciate ko ang movie na pinanood. Nakatulog nga lang ako 😊dahil sa sobrang lamig sa loob ng sinehan at inantok ako sa panonood. Isa rin sa nakapagpasaya sa akin ay ang pamimiling sama-sama sa SM. Masaya ako dahil nakabili ako ng regalo para sa aking sarili gamit ang ibinigay ng 300 PHP. Ang sarap umikot, mamasyal at mamili. Sana sa sunod mas maraming oras at may madagdag sa amount ng pambili” 😊

Jesel is one of the twenty-one blind participants who enjoyed roaming around and shopping. Thanks to PWDA of Bambang and the support of Capt. Ryan Esteban.
